October 20, 2024 Benny was interviewed for a podcast on reprise of his Minnesota-set musical Kristina: ABBA's Benny Andersson on reprise of his Minnesota-set musical 'Kristina' | MPR News Special thanks to Pentti Koponen. In August 2025, Dalhalla will be filled with the melodies of the musical CHESS as an exclusive concert version takes over Sweden’s most beautiful outdoor venue. For two unique evenings, on August 8th and 9th, under the open sky, the timeless music will be performed by some of the country’s top musical artists, under the baton of renowned conductor Anders Eljas. In the leading roles, we’ll see Philip Jalmelid in his signature role as Anatoly, Tuva B Larsen as Florence, musical star Peter Johansson as Freddie, Malena Tuvung as Svetlana, and acclaimed opera singer Loa Falkman as Molokov. Photo: © Regina Grafunder October 1, 2024 On 21st of September 2024, Björn married his partner Christina Sas from Herning, Denmark. The wedding took place in Copenhagen in the presence of close friends and family. Sandi Toksvig, Anne Linnet and Kaya Brüel generously performed and made the evening extra special. Warm congratulations and all our best wishes from the entire ABBA Fan Club Team to this lovely couple. Clothes: Soeren Le Schmidt Photos: Krestine Havemann ABBA drummer Roger Palm passed away Roger Palm (31 March 1949 – 21 September 2024) was a Swedish drummer who was frequently engaged as a studio musician, recording with ABBA and Ted Gärdestad, among others. Palm was a member of the bands Gimmicks, Beatmakers, Lasse Holm and Moonlighters. He began working with Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson in 1970, and appears on ABBA's "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Take a Chance on Me" and "Thank You for the Music". Palm also collaborated with Ted Gärdestad and played drums on the hit song "Satellit". Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. R.I.P. Roger Palm and thank you for the music. Photos: Private Frida has visited ABBA Voyage once again and enjoyed the concert on 18th September 2024. Björn Ulvaeus´ Swedish version of 'The Way Old Friends Do' is "Vår vänskap består". Helen Sjöholm and Anna Stadling's recording of the song will be released on Friday. September 6, 2024 ABBA The Singles – The First Fifty Years On October 25, 2024, the 4 LP set 'ABBA The Singles - The First Fifty Years' will be released as a softcover book, including a 24-page booklet with liner notes by Carl Magnus Palm and some unpublished photos. The 2 CD set includes a hardcover book with 28 pages. For the first time, all 38 ABBA singles released between 1972 and 2022 will be available on one sampler, including songs such as 'Hasta Manana', 'Angeleyes' etc., which were only released as singles in some countries. Beforehand, there was a Q&A with Björn Ulvaeus moderated by Swedish journalist Ronny Svensson outside at Stegeholm's Castle Ruin at 9.15 p.m. Move Me! This very special edition contains a special detailed report on the ceremonial awarding of the Royal Order of Vasa / Commander 1st Class to Agnetha, Benny, Björn and Frida by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on 31 May 2024. We are extremely proud that Frida exclusively wrote us about the ceremony and also wrote a very heartwarming message to all our members! We took this extraordinary event as an opportunity to present you 3 posters! Thanks to the fact that most of ABBA's popular music videos were filmed on actual film, making it possible to restore them with todays technology, 'Summer Night City' marks the 13th music video receiving this treatment. June 27, 2024 There is a very interesting Rosebud podcast with Gyles Brandreth and Björn. Björn also spoke about receiving the Vasa Order. Björn was guest speaker at the Business Day in Bridlington / East Yorkshire on 7 June 2024. The BAO concert at Cirkus was a big success. All four ABBA members arrived at the Royal Palace to recieve the Royal Order of Vasa / Commander 1st Class through the hands of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on May 31st. Congratulations! It will contain some wonderful photos. Here are some spreads from it. Their calendars are always very professionally produced and we can highly recommend them.             April 25, 2024 April 6, 2024 Now you can see photos of the ABBA Pinball Machine from Pinball Brothers. They build two with different pictures on the case. April 5, 2024 The ABBA Pinball machine ! The Swedish company Pinball Brothers will present an ABBA pinball machine on April 6 at 18:00 at Clarion Hotel in Örebro for the first time. Right now there are no pictures or videos from it, but it will play more than 20 songs and may appear after the demonstration on Youtube or on their website. Here are the distributors linked, they will soon offer this pinball machine. A new pinball machine often has a price around 10,000 Euros, it will be shown on the distributor sites. If you want to watch the whole Eurovision Song Contest from April 6, 1974 again, we recommend this link on Youtube. We congratulate Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog for their distinction with the Royal Vasa Order for special contributions of Swedish and international music. The king court has notified that the four king knight orders, the Seraphim order, the sword order, the polar star order and the Vasa order will be awarded again. For the first time for almost 50 years the king knight orders became awarded in Sweden for special profits. The holders of the order were nominated by the public and the name recommendations were selected by the order mission of the Swedish King Science Academy. The price award happens on May 31 in a ceremony at the King Palace in Stockholm.     Pophouse has bought the song catalogue of Cyndi Lauper. At the same time the concern starts a co-operation with the "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" artist and is planning a TV series and "a theatre project". CEO Per Sundin said that Cyndi Lauper was "a dream partner" for Pophouse and she was sharing the wish of the business to "prepare the creativity over conventional limits". "We already have first plans for a TV series with fans, a festival plus a theatre project about Cyndi's education – a project, that she likes and we enquire different technical possibilities to create an unique event." The planned theatre performance will keep the music, but without participation of joint owner Björn Ulvaeus, who is not actively concerned in co-operation with Cyndi Lauper. He has written and arranged some of Agnetha's German songs, like Concerto D'Amore, Fragezeichen mag ich nicht and so on. March 2, 2024 ABBA Nr. 101 is out now and will be sent to all members! We are celebrating the 50 years Waterloo jubilee in this issue! Be glad about a Waterloo special report plus an A3 poster of ABBA's rehearsal at the Eurovision Song Contest 1974.
